Maybelline Color Sensational Shaping Lip Liner Dusty Rose

When it comes to lip liners, I stick mostly to Essence because they are cheap as chips and they always have some nice shades. This was the first time I even looked at Maybelline's lipliners and I immediately liked this shade. It's definitely one of the prettiest in my collection and since it's Maybelline's there's little fear they discontinue it in the next year.

Texture: Formula is nothing special and I mean that in a sense that it's good. It's soft and easy to apply all over the lips. Formula is light on the lips and it doesn't feel drying. So far it hasn't snapped off and I don't think it will, so compared to the Essence disaster they had a few years ago, this one looks more stable.

Shade: Dusty Rose is a beautiful light natural pinky-peach. It's somewhat similar to Big Proposal, my favourite, but it's less peachy. I love this one for a natural looking makeup because I can use it to define the lips without it looking too odd. I'd love to find a lipstick in this shade because I wear this all the time and it's more time consuming to apply it than a lipsticks.

Staying power: it's more long-lasting than Essence's lip liners, so I get a lot more out of this one. It's comparable to regular matte lipsticks.

Packaging: it's a standard twist up pencil and it has an added sharpener on the other side so you can keep it always precise.

Price and availability: I got it in Müller for 5.11 €.

I'm a big fan of this lipliner. It's become my most worn shade, winning by a margin over Essence's Big Proposal (and yes, I do tend to wear mostly lipliners nowadays because for some reasons I can only find great shades for me among them and not lipsticks). It's not as cheap as Essence, but it lasts longer on the lips and the price is still acceptable. I've only mentioned it once in my monthly favourites, but it could be there every month.

Have a great day!
